NYT warmist Justin Gillis: ‘Perhaps the biggest single question about climate change is whether people will have enough to eat in coming decades’

Climatologist Dr. Tim Ball rebuts NYT’s Gillis, notes endless eco-scares: ‘Chronologically, it was overpopulation, environmental collapse, global warming, climate change, catastrophic climate change. Now they are back to collapse of the food supply’

New York Times climate reporter Justin Gillis wrote a September 6, 2012 in an article titled “Climate Change and the Food Supply”. Gillis claimed: “Perhaps the biggest single question about climate change is whether people will have enough to eat in coming decades.” Gillis added: “Severe weather shocks could cause further spikes, induce panic buying, prompt countries to close their borders to food exports and even lead to riots and revolutions.”

The following is a rebuttal to to the claims of NYT’s Justin Gillis by Climatologist Dr. Tim Ball. (more…)

There is a single ideological current running through a seemingly disparate collection of noxious modern political and scientific movements, ranging from militarism, imperialism, racism, xenophobia, and radical environmentalism, to socialism, Nazism, and totalitarian communism. This is the ideology of antihumanism: the belief that the human race is a horde of vermin whose unconstrained aspirations and appetites endanger the natural order, and that tyrannical measures are necessary to constrain humanity. The founding prophet of modern antihumanism is Thomas Malthus (1766-1834), who offered a pseudoscientific basis for the idea that human reproduction always outruns available resources. Following this pessimistic and inaccurate assessment of the capacity of human ingenuity to develop new resources, Malthus advocated oppressive policies that led to the starvation of millions in India and Ireland.

While Malthus’s argument that human population growth invariably leads to famine and poverty is plainly at odds with the historical evidence, which shows global living standards rising with population growth, it nonetheless persisted and even gained strength among intellectuals and political leaders in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Its most pernicious manifestation in recent decades has been the doctrine of population control, famously advocated by ecologist Paul Ehrlich, whose bestselling 1968 antihumanist tract The Population Bomb cymbalta online canada. get cymbalta cheap. duloxetine in india . discount generic cymbalta. buy generic prozac online no prescription. order cheap cymbalta. fucidin without prescription has served as the bible of neo-Malthusianism. In this book, Ehrlich warned of overpopulation and advocated that the American government adopt stringent population control measures, both domestically and for the Third World countries that received American foreign aid. (Ehrlich, it should be noted, is the mentor of and frequent collaborator with John Holdren, President Obama’s science advisor.)

Opinion: UN-Backed Scientists Call For Mega-City Population Lockup

Jurriaan Maessen

In a recent statement put out by “Planet Under Pressure” several scientists call for denser cities in order to mitigate worldwide population growth. When in doubt that UN’s Agenda 21 is not the Mein Kampf of our day, one should consider yet another in-your-face confession from yet another certified biocratic control freak

According to an MSNBC article one of the scientists while speaking about human populations worldwide, stated:

We certainly don’t want them strolling about the entire countryside. We want them to save land for nature by living closely [together].”

Insisting the world’s population be locked up within the confounds of mega-cities, the elite realizes that if the herd is to be properly controlled walls are needed- thick walls, and by constructing these walls, making the masses go this or that way will be made easier..

Chief scientist Michail Fragkias involved with “Planet under Pressure” told MSNBC that “the answer (to population growth) is denser cities.” (more…)

Rio +20 Earth Summit will tie population into green knots

The United Nations is not giving up its assault on the economic and political future of our country and of our planet. The first installment of the United Nations to control the globe environmentally and economically was “The UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED),” held in Rio in 1992. The UN Bruntland Commission released its official UN Agenda 21 that same year, following the Conference on Human Settlements in 1976 and the 1987 report, “Our Common Future.”

The policy of Sustainable Development, land use, education, population control and reduction, made nature and its protection the central principle for all member nations.

The 65-page socialist document released from the Conference on Human Settlements (1976) declared private land ownership and wealth as primary reasons for “social injustice.” Its recommendations that were later incorporated in UN Agenda 21 are:

  • Redistribution of population according to resources
  • Government control of land use in order to achieve equitable distribution of resources
  • Land use control through zoning and planning
  • Government control of excessive profits from land use
  • Urban and rural land control through public land ownership
  • Developing rights must be held by public authorities (more…)

The global warming debate has always been a touchy one for both sides, and when the world’s top global warming activist is talking about the size of population and how that contributes to the choices societies make, it might be worth taking note.

In an appearance Monday in New York City, former Vice President Al Gore, prominently known for his climate change activism, took on the subject of population size and the role of society in controlling it to reduce pollution.

He offered some ideas about what might be done for females in the name of stabilizing population growth. (h/t Chris Horner via

“You have to lift child survival rates so that parents feel comfortable having small families and most important — you have to educate girls and empower women,” he said. “And that’s the most powerful leveraging factor, and when that happens, then the population begins to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices and more balanced choices.”

This is America, right? The land of plenty, a nation blessed with abundant supplies and resources. In a country like America, we’d like to think that no one should go hungry. We not only have charitable pantries and soup kitchens, but the government offers social welfare benefits in the form of food stamps for those families that are struggling to get by. We have special programs for women and children in need.

No one should go to bed hungry, or have to choose whether to feed themselves or purchase other life necessities, like medicine and clothing, right?

White House official cites ‘education problem’ on climate By Ben Geman

President Obama’s top science adviser said there’s a need to “educate” GOP climate change skeptics on Capitol Hill as the White House seeks to advance its green energy agenda. “It is an education problem. I think we have to educate them,” said John Holdren, who heads the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. […] Holdren, asked about advancing Obama’s agenda in the face of [Congressional] skepticism, said the scientific evidence of dangerous human-induced climate change is powerful. “The science of climate change is really very clear in its essentials,” Holdren said on Platts Energy Week. Cancun: Global Hysteria, Wealth Redistribution

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

Source:  Cancun: Global Hysteria, Wealth Redistribution

by Alex Newman

Thousands of climate dignitaries representing almost every national government on Earth flew to Cancun, Mexico, for the great event. Security precautions were extensive: Battleships could be seen from the beach while thousands of soldiers and police lined the jam-packed roads. It was time for the 16th “Conference of the Parties,” or COP16 for short. The annual summit, which was held this year from November 29 through December 10, is an extravaganza of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, or UNFCCC. The previous year’s COP15 in Copenhagen was massive — over 50,000 attendees in all, not counting protesters. It was well publicized, too. But after the spectacular failure of COP15 to deliver a binding climate treaty, and with little hope of securing one this time, expectations for COP16 were purposefully set low. (more…)

As the UN Climate Change conference in Cancun, Mexico continues, so does the barrage of economic and demographic suggested solutions. Just yesterday, Ted Turner and economist Brian O’Neill spoke at a luncheon covered by the Globe and Mail of file wherever montague buy female viagra of find is kind sympathetic says. :

Mr. O’Neill’s study concluded that a rapidly rising global population is contributing to an acceleration of emission growth, and that widespread availability of family planning could reduce the amount of emissions reductions required in 2050 by as much as 30 per cent.

Mr. O’Neill acknowledged that discussion of climate change and population is a political minefield. The Roman Catholic Church has condemned any such connection, while developing countries resist rich-world prescriptions that they should limit their populations.

The global population is now close to seven billion people, and is expected to rise to 10 billion by 2050, with 80 per cent of that growth coming in developing countries.

Mr. Turner – a long-time advocate of population control – said the environmental stress on the Earth requires radical solutions, suggesting countries should follow China’s lead in instituting a one-child policy to reduce global population over time. He added that fertility rights could be sold so that poor people could profit from their decision not to reproduce.

It is twisted logic to make people pay for their own freedoms, and then claim that the poor would “save money” by not spending it on “fertility rights.” Even communist China did not go as far as that.

Population and Climate Change

Monday, July 12th, 2010

By Alan Barron

Last Saturday, I attended a meeting in the Victorian seaside town of Torquay, not far from Geelong. This public forum was on population and climate change.

There were three Speakers, demographer Professor Bob Birrell from Monash University, Mark O’Conner the author of `Overloading Australia’, and politician, the member for Wills (Melbourne), Kelvin Thompson. The meeting was organised by SCEG, the Surf Coast Energy Group. Local politicians Darren Cheeseman and Liberal candidate for Corangamite, Sarah Henderson, attended the meeting of some 180-200 people.

Hardly a word was spoken about climate change. It now seems the global warming lobby has decided to try another tack, the issue of over-population. All three speakers were in fairly general agreement over-population is going to be a major issue – if it isn’t already – in Australia. (more…)
