The silence of the Anti Defamation League suggests they endorse defamation of climate skeptics

ADL[1]I’ve waited several days for a response since I sent a letter last Thursday, I’ve checked the ADL website, my Inbox, fax machine, and asked in the climate skeptic community if anyone has seen any response of any kind from ADL. None has been received. It seems that ADL chooses silence after making a hypocritical error that puts their organization in a very bad light. (more…)

Professor Calls For Climate Change ‘Deniers’ To Be Imprisoned

Wants to criminalize questioning of the science on global warming

A professor with Rochester Institute of Technology has called for the incarceration of any American who actively disagrees that climate change is solely caused by human activity.

Lawrence Torcello, a philosophy professor with a Ph.D. from the University at Buffalo, published the comments as part of an essay submitted to the academic website The Conversation.

Torcello argues that malignant individuals, who he does not identify, are collectively organising a “campaign funding misinformation” about climate change. Torcello goes on to suggest that such activity “ought to be considered criminally negligent.” (more…)

Democrats as Money Changers

Democrats as Money Changers

Democrats occupied the Senate floor all night Monday, talking about climate change. They didn’t try to advance any legislation, and they didn’t even try very hard to get media attention.

“The members know that serious climate change legislation stands no chance of passage in this divided Congress,” wrote the New York Times’ climate-change reporter, Coral Davenport. Beyond that, Democrats know that action on climate legislation would help Republicans take the Senate in 2014.

So why occupy the Senate floor talking about the issue? In short: Faith, identity and cash. (more…)

COLD SHOULDER: ABC, CBS Exclude Scientists Critical of Global Warming for More Than 1,300 Days

Tuesday, March 11th, 2014

Source: News Busters

Like a simple parlor trick, the networks are able to make skeptical scientists vanish, at least from the eyes of their viewers.

In some cases, the broadcast networks have failed to include such scientists for years, while including alarmist scientists within the past six months. ABC, CBS and NBC’s lengthy omission of scientists critical of global warming alarmism propped up the myth of a scientific consensus, despite the fact that many scientists and thousands of peer-reviewed studies disagree.

Neither CBS nor ABC have included a skeptical scientist in their news shows within the past 1,300 days, but both networks included alarmists within the past 160 days — CBS as recently as 22 days ago. When the networks did include other viewpoints, the experts were dismissed as “out of the scientific mainstream” or backed by “oil and coal companies.” (more…)

Obama’s Pseudo-Scientism

Too hot? Too cold? Regardless, it must be global warming.

By Victor Davis Hanson

President Obama came to California. He saw a drought. He announced the cause to be global warming and left. How accurate was the president’s diagnosis of harmful, man-made climate change in stopping rain and snow? First, a bit of a reminder about what the president has called “settled science.” (more…)

The cause of global carbon regulation may be lost, but enemies still can be punished.

Surely, some kind of ending is upon us. Last week climate protesters demanded the silencing of Charles Krauthammer for a Washington Post column that notices uncertainties in the global warming hypothesis. In coming weeks a libel trial gets under way brought by Penn State’s Michael Mann, author of the famed hockey stick, against National Review, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, writer Rand Simberg and roving commentator Mark Steyn for making wisecracks about his climate work. The New York Times runs a cartoon of a climate “denier” being stabbed with an icicle. (more…)

Yellow Rat Snake

by Donna Laframboise

A UK parliamentary committee. A Canadian journalist. A rat snake.

Bob Ward says I uttered a “a number of inaccurate and misleading statements” when I appeared before a UK parliamentary committee in January 2014. His accusations have no basis in fact.

Ward is the Communications Director of both the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and the Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy. I am mentioned by name in paragraphs 1 and 2 of the third page of Ward’s five-page submission – dated February 2014 and available here. My written response to Ward’s false allegations is here (3 pages). Some things worth noticing: (more…)

Calling the Global Warming Charlatans “Nazis”

By Alan Caruba

On February 20th, the noted meteorologist, Dr. Roy W. Spencer, fed up with being called a “denier” of global warming, posted a commentary on his blog titled “Time to push back against the global warming Nazis.”

“When politicians and scientists started calling people like me ‘deniers’, they crossed the line. They are still doing it,” said Dr. Spencer. “They indirectly equate (1) the skeptics’ view that global warming is not necessarily all manmade nor a serious problem with (2) the denial that the Nazi’s extermination of millions of Jews ever happened.” The Holocaust happened, but global warming’s latest natural cycle ended about 17 years ago and, as a lot of people have noticed, it has been getting cold since then. Skeptics Smeared As Holocaust Deniers, ADL Silent

Inappropriate Comparisons Trivialize the Holocaust” – Abraham Foxman, ADL Director

While the ADL moved quickly to denounce Dr. Spencer, it appears unwilling to defend him and other climate skeptics from reprehensible analogies to “Holocaust deniers”.

Let’s just say that global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers.

Critics are slamming Reddit over a single moderator’s decision to ban climate-change skeptics from contributing to its science forum, attacking the move as “political censorship.”

In an op-ed titled “Reddit’s science forum banned climate deniers. Why don’t all newspapers do the same?” Nathan Allen — who described himself a Ph.D. chemist for a major chemical company and a moderator on Reddit’s “/r/science” forum — explained his decision to wipe comments from some users he dismissed as “problematic.” (more…)

The Climate Inquisition

The Climate Inquisition

by Donna Laframboise

When did “Question Authority” stop being applicable – and 21st-century activists turn into 1950s bigots?

In my late teens, I wore an activist button that read: Question Authority. It looked much like the one above, currently for sale at the website.

Described there as an “historic” button, we’re told it bears “A statement that started many of us on our journey.” Fittingly enough, it’s accompanied by an Albert Einstein quote: “A foolish faith in authority is the worst enemy of truth.”

My, oh my, how times have changed. These days, according to large numbers of climate activists, we’re no longer supposed to question authority. We’re expected to fall into line obediently, to accept without murmur the proclamations of UN entities and a parade of eminent organizations. (more…)

Same old New Scientist

Same old New Scientist. Their editorial today is desperately poor stuff, at best demonstrating a comical lack of understanding of the lukewarmer case and at worst deliberately mispresenting it.

[Sceptics] have been emboldened by scientists’ acknowledgment that temperatures on the planet’s surface have risen less sharply than expected in recent years. The scientists say that’s down to natural variability; the doubters say it is a sign that climate change amounts to little more than ignorable, or even beneficial, “lukewarming”. (more…)

Collapsing science, economies and international cooperation require that we refuse to act

by Paul Driessen

The full-court press is on. Alarmist scientists, politicians, pressure groups, newspapers, ministers, rabbis and bureaucrats want Americans to “stop stalling” on climate change. They demand that we embrace “revenue-neutral” carbon taxes and carbon dioxide regulations, before it’s “too late” to prevent “catastrophic” global warming, “monster” storms and rising seas that will “inundate our coastal cities.”

Anyone dissenting from this “call to action” is a climate change “denier” – a pejorative devised to vilify and silence anyone who rejects this agenda, by linking our views to Holocaust denial. What nonsense. (more…)

Washington Becomes Burma On Climate Science…Krauthammer Calls It “Appalling…Anti-Scientific…Scandalous”

When the president chooses to bypass Congress and the usual institutions to enact minority-supported regulation, and decides to decree it on his own, then he’s proven his utter failure to lead and has embarked on the ruinous path to tyranny.

That path is one of arrogance, a despise for the will of the people, leadership failure, and eventual civil strife that could shatter a nation.

I disagree with Marc Morano on one point above. This isn’t brilliant, it’s desperate and frightening.

Ross Gelbspan: No Tidy Answers; just Deeper Problems

I concluded my last blog piece by suggesting there might be three degrees or less separation between Ross Gelbspan and others who say skeptic climate scientists are corrupt. Think I was kidding when I said that?

In my previous blog piece, I detailed how Ross Gelbspan’s name was seen in association with the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s Hans Verolme and reporter Jeff Nesmith. In one particular ClimateGate email, Verolme says Nesmith was working on an article “exposing the skeptics”, and that particular article cited Gelbspan. I even added an edit to show how an archive version of the article preserves Nesmith’s direct link to Gelbspan’s web site. (more…)
