A Climate Depot Special Report debunking a global warming/tornado connection

Morano Statement: “U.S.  Senators Boxer and Whitehouse and other global warming activists have descended into  buffoonery  trying to exploit a natural disaster in Oklahoma. Have you no sense of decency, Senators? At long last, have you left no sense of decency or understanding of science?”

BOXER RINGS THE BELL ON CLIMATE CHANGE: Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif. – Chair of Senate Environment & Public Works Committee) took to the Senate floor and invoked the Oklahoma tornadoes in her speech on global warming. “This is climate change,” she said.

“This is climate change. We were warned about extreme weather. Not just hot weather. But extreme weather. When I had my hearings, when I had the gavel years ago. -It’s been a while – the scientists all agreed that what we’d start to see was extreme weather. And people looked at one another and said ‘what do you mean? It’s gonna get hot?’ Yeah, it’s gonna get hot. But you’re also going to see snow in the summer in some places. You’re gonna have terrible storms. You’re going to have tornados and all the rest. We need to protect our people. That’s our number one obligation and we have to deal with this threat that is upon us and that is gonna get worse and worse though the years.”

[Boxer] also plugged her own bill, cosponsored with Sen. Bernie Sanders that would put a tax on carbon. “Carbon could cost us the planet,” she said. “The least we could do is put a little charge on it so people move to clean energy.” (more…)

The level of carbon dioxide, a trace essential gas in the atmosphere that humans exhale from our mouths, has come very close to reaching the “symbolic” 400 parts per million (ppm) threshold in the atmosphere. Former Vice President Al Gore declared the 400 ppm level “A sad milestone. A call to action.”  New York times reporter Justin Gillis compared trace amounts of CO2 to “a tiny bit of arsenic or cobra venom.” The New Yorker Magazine declared “Everything we use that emits carbon dioxide needs to be replaced with something that doesn’t.”  And a UK Guardian editorial declared “Swift political action can avert a carbon dioxide crisis.” (more…)

The political posturing of ‘climate astrology’

Marc Morano operates Climatedepot.com, an Internet clearinghouse for information on climate, environmental and energy news. Morano, a former aide to U.S. Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., spoke to the Trib on the latest developments in the climate-change debate.

Q: It’s the hottest year on record so far in the Northeast. Must be global warming, right?

A: Globally, it’s not the hottest. In fact, here is the problem: The heat they are touting as proof of man-made global warming is occurring in the continental United States, which is less than 2 percent of the Earth’s surface. So far in 2012, (global) temperatures have been slightly below the average for the last 15 years. So if the Earth isn’t actually in record warmth globally, why are we looking at 2 percent (of its surface) and then trying to draw extrapolations?

Q: Why are we? (more…)

New Paper Deflates Muller’s Claims — Climatologist Declares ‘a major correction is needed Muller’s BEST study’

Anthony Watts delivers devastating scientific blow to Muller’s claims: ‘New analysis demonstrates that reported 1979-2008 U.S. temp trends are spuriously doubled’

Climatologist Dr. Pielke Sr. on Watts’ ‘Game Changer New Paper’: ‘Muller’s conclusion regarding the robustness of the BEST analysis is refuted in the same day as his op-ed appeared’ — ‘Anthony Watt’s new paper shows that a major correction is needed Muller’s BEST study. Anthony also has shown what dedicated scientists can do with even limited financial support. Despite the large quantities of funds spent on the BEST study, it is Anthony Watts and his team who have actually significantly advanced our understanding of this aspect of the climate system’ (more…)

Scientific case for man-made global warming fears is dead

by Marc Morano

Many of the proponents of man-made global warming are now claiming that climate change is worse than they predicted. According to an Oct. 18, 2011, Daily Climate article, global warming activists claim that the “evidence builds that scientists underplay climate impacts,” and “if anything, global climate disruption is likely to be significantly worse than has been suggested.” (more…)

Morano on Al Gore

[Climate Depot Comment: 'This is psychologically healthy development for Gore. He needs to face the reality that despite his film, an Oscar, a Nobel, a compliant shoddy news media, the UN, Hollywood, untold tens of billions of dollars spent, propaganda directed at school kids, and twisted science - the movement Gore helped found, is dying scientifically, politically and economically. It is time to celebrate the utter and complete failure of the sub-prime science of man-made global warming.' More analysis on why Gore has failed here.]

Defeated Gore unleashes: ‘It’s no longer acceptable in mixed company, meaning bipartisan company, to use the goddamn word ‘climate’…we cannot possibly come to an agreement on it’

Gore: ‘They have polluted it to the point where we cannot possibly come to an agreement on it’

Gore laments his failure: ‘When you go and talk to any audience about climate, you hear them washing back at you the same crap over and over and over again’ (more…)

Obama’s science czar abandoning rational thought

Monday, September 27th, 2010

Source:  Culture

Although they still believe alleged “manmade global warming” is a problem, the White House is attempting to repackage the name in hopes it will be better received by the public.

Climate Depot executive editor Marc Morano tells OneNewsNow that he believes President Obama’s “science czar” John Holdren has recognized the collapse of the entire movement alleging manmade global warming. Holdren, says Morano, fears that the phrase “global warming” has been oversimplified and sounds less dangerous than what he believes it really is — so Holdren is changing the terminology. (more…)

Population Bomb’ author Paul Ehrlich suggested adding a forced sterilization agent to ‘staple food’ and ‘water supply

A 1972 article about “The Population Bomb” biologist Paul Ehrlich reveals a nascent environmental movement grappling with mass sterilization, climate fears, “international policy planning” and redistribution of wealth. The article reveals dramatic parallels to today’s modern environmental movement.

According to the June 16, 1972 article in the Boca Raton News. The article, part of the Newsweek Feature Service, was written by William J. Cook and was titled “Expert on population pleased by response.”

The article reported: “In 1969, [Ehrlich] said if voluntary birth reduction methods did not work a nation might have to resort to ‘the addition of a temporary sterilant to staple food or to the water supply.’ The proposal brought a charge from one newspaper critic that Ehrlich was ‘worse than Hitler.’” [Climate Depot's Editor's Note: Ehrlich has had a few moments of candor in recent times and apparently admitted his lack of basic scientific training. See: An Admission finally! 'The Population Bomb's' Paul Ehrlich: 'I wish I'd taken more math in high school and college. That would have been useful' -- 'If he were writing 'The Population Bomb' now, he'd be more careful about predictions' October 8, 2009 & Also see: Relax: Laugh at silly predictions of overpopulation: Climate Depot's Factsheet on Overpopulation – 'Is too few people the new 'population problem?'] (more…)
