Abraham surrenders to Monckton. Uni of St Thomas endorses untruths.

What do you do when someone speaks against your faith, sounds authoritative, well informed, and backs everything up with lots of evidence? If you’re sane, you change your mind.

If you are John P. Abraham, a lecturer in fluid mechanics at the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota, you write to a few select scientists distorting what your opponent said, and then collect the infuriated responses. Abraham went on to assemble a list of things Christopher Monckton didn’t say,  complained about things he didn’t cite (even if he did and it’s printed on his slides), pretended he couldn’t find sources (but didn’t take ten minutes to ask), and created a litany of communication pollution in an effort to denigrate Monckton’s character.

The untruths and fabrications have come back to bite him. (more…)

Lies, damned lies, and little Littlemore

By Christopher Monckton of Brenchley

The SPPI Blog does not usually concern itself with climate-extremist websites. However, that of Richard Littlemore, the cringing, paid lackey of a convicted internet-gaming fraudster who now additionally faces money-laundering charges and has recently found a new fraud – making dodgy solar panels whose construction emits more carbon dioxide than they will save in their remarkably short life-span – has sunk to a new, panicky, desperate low.

Littlemore, you may remember, unwisely agreed to debate me on live radio [Hear the debate here. Or read it here.] across Canada a couple of years ago. As a full-time hack for a PR company he knows no climate science at all, so instead he resorted to the only trade he knows – an ad-hominem personal attack on me. During that radio broadcast he suggested – with characteristic mendacity – that I was paid by fossil-fuel interests.  (more…)

Climate: the extremists join the debate at last!

by Christopher Monckton of Brenchley

ONE of the numerous artifices deployed by the now-retreating climate-extremist movement has been the careful avoidance of any debate with anyone on the skeptical side of the case who happens to know anything about climate science or economics.

As the extremists lose the argument and become more desperate, that is changing. John Abraham, a lecturer in fluid mechanics at a college in Minnesota has recently issued – and widely disseminated – a hilariously mendacious 83-minute attempted rebuttal of a speech by me about the climate last October in St. Paul, Minn.

As usual, though, none of these silly bloggers makes any attempt actually to verify whether what poor Abraham is saying actually has the slightest contact with reality.

So unusual is this attempt actually to meet us in argument, and so venomously ad hominem are Abraham’s artful puerilities, delivered in a nasal and irritatingly matey tone (at least we are spared his face — he looks like an overcooked prawn), that climate-extremist bloggers everywhere have circulated them and praised them to the warming skies.
