Hypocrisy: Arab oil-financed, anti-Semitic broadcaster Al-Jazeera has bought Current TV, global-warming crusader Al Gore’s failed news channel. How will Gore spend his estimated $100 million in oil-tainted cash?

The effects of large quantities of crude oil on the brain may not yet have been determined by medical research, but when a Mideast media outfit swimming in government-provided oil profits pays $500 million for access to 50,000 U.S. viewers you have to wonder.

That’s what the New York Times estimates Al-Jazeera paid for Current TV, which means its founder Al Gore getting about a fifth of that sum.

Al-Jazeera is literally bought and paid for by the monarchy of the oil-and-gas-rich Mideast nation of Qatar.

The latest proof of that came a few months ago when its coverage of the United Nations’ Syria debate ridiculously led off with a no-news speech by Qatar’s irrelevant UN emir, thanks to a last-minute move by Al Jazeera’s Qatar-based news director. (more…)

Neither you nor I will ever be able to own a house like either of these.

However, it does provide us with a startling example of environmental friendliness that may raise your eyebrows.

Keep in mind, the average size for a family home in the U.S. is around 2300 square feet.

This image shows a 20 room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month, this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400 per month. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern ‘snow belt’ area. It’s in the South. ‘Local legislation prohibits any car engine running for more than 60 seconds’ — But Gore Not Fined

Al Gore — He did it again.

Recently, Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore toured again. Or maybe he does that all the time. This time, he turned up in Gothenburg (Sweden) for the usual alarmist talk. In advance, all distinguished guests were politely advised to – if possible – use any form of public transportation to go to the event, in order to minimize CO2 emissions.

Intriguingly, the Master of World Climate himself arrived in a rental car (with or without driver is unclear), from the airport, and subsequently left the engine running for the entire lecture. That is to say, about one hour. Incidentally, local legislation prohibits – for very good environmental reasons, i e pollution – any car engine running on empty for more than 60 seconds.
