The Earth has changed in ?unprecedented ways? since 1950, the U.N. says, and its scientists are 95 percent certain that humans are responsible.

Yet the planet has largely stopped warming over the past 15 years, data shows — and a landmark report released Friday by the U.N.?s climate group could not explain why the mercury has stopped rising.

Global surface temperatures rose rapidly during the 70s, but have been relatively flat over the past decade and a half, rising only 0.05 degrees Celsius (0.09 degrees Fahrenheit) per decade according to data from the U.K.?s weather-watching Met Office, a trend current models of the world?s climate have been unable to predict. A draft of the report leaked in early September acknowledged that trend and put it bluntly: We simply can?t explain it.

?Models do not generally reproduce the observed reduction in surface warming trend over the last 10?15 years.?

But a final version of the report released Friday morning by the U.N.?s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) strips out the failure of models and explains away the downward trend. (more…)

The Real Climate

by Vincent Gray

The Climate is a heat engine. Energy input is mainly short wave radiation from the sun. Energy output is mainly long wave radiation from every surface on the earth and from every level in the atmosphere, including clouds and aerosols.

The Age of Lying: UN says ?The World Won?t Cool Without Chemtrails?

According to the upcoming United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change climate assessment, ?Global warming is irreversible without massive geoengineering of the atmosphere?s chemistry.?

The New Scientist reported yesterday:

According to one of its lead authors, and the latest draft seen by New Scientist, the report will say: ?CO2-induced warming is projected to remain approximately constant for many centuries following a complete cessation of emission. A large fraction of climate change is thus irreversible on a human timescale, except if net anthropogenic CO2 emissions were strongly negative over a sustained period.?

In other words, even if all the world ran on carbon-free energy and deforestation ceased, the only way of lowering temperatures would be to devise a scheme for sucking hundreds of billions of tonnes of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere. (more…)

Warming Up for Another Climate-Change Report

At a closed-door meeting in Stockholm this week, each paragraph of a document written by scientists is being projected onto large screens. Delegations from scores of nations participate in the editing: Words will be substituted, emphasis will be added, entire sentences may well be inserted or deleted.

After four days of haggling, the media will be summoned by the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to a news conference on Friday where the final version of the document?known as the “Summary for Policymakers”?will be released along with a solemn announcement that “science” has spoken. Frauds, Serious Frauds and IPCC Assessment Reports

by Christopher Monckton of Brenchley

In the 19th century, British Prime Ministers used to say there were ?lies, damned lies, and statistics?. In the 21st century, we may say there are frauds, serious frauds, and IPCC Assessment Reports. Recall, for instance, the notorious graph in the Fourth Assessment Report that falsely indicated that the rate of global warming is accelerating and we are to blame. Using the same statistical dodge, one can show that a sine-wave has a rising trend.

But What Do We Mean by Consensus?

by Christopher Monckton of Brenchley

The celebrated mathematician, astronomer and philosopher of science Abu Ali Ibn al-Haytham, or Alhazen, is justly celebrated as the founder of the scientific method. His image appears on Iraqi banknotes and on the postage stamps of half a dozen nations of the ummah wahida. Al-Haytham, unlike Naomi Oreskes, did not consid that consensus had any role in science.

Biospheric Productivity in High Latitude Regions of North America

How does the terrestrial vegetation of Earth’s natural ecosystems respond to increases in atmospheric temperature and CO2 concentration? We here consider this question as it applies to Arctic and near-Arctic locations in North America.

Warming Plateau? Climatologists Face Inconvenient Truth

By Axel Bojanowski, Olaf Stampf and Gerald Traufetterco2 fraud

Translated from the German by Ella Ornstein

Data shows global temperatures aren’t rising the way climate scientists have predicted. Now the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change faces a problem: publicize these findings and encourage skeptics — or hush up the figures.

For a quarter of a century now, environmental activists have been issuing predictions in the vein of the Catholic Church, warning people of the coming greenhouse effect armageddon. Environmentalists bleakly predict global warming will usher in plagues of biblical dimensions — perpetual droughts, deluge-like floods and hurricanes of unprecedented force.

The number of people who believe in such a coming apocalypse, however, has considerably decreased. A survey conducted on behalf of SPIEGEL found a dramatic shift in public opinion — Germans are losing their fear of climate change. While in 2006 a sizeable majority of 62 percent expressed a fear of global warning, that number has now become a minority of just 39 percent. (more…)

Climate Change Reconsidered II – Physical Science Is Released

On September 17, the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change released Climate Change Reconsidered II: Physical Science, more than 1,000 pages documenting the evidence that anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions are not causing a global warming crisis. The report, published for NIPCC by The Heartland Institute, contains literally thousands of citations to the peer-reviewed literature. A downloadable PDF is available online at, where you will also find previous volumes in the series, media coverage of the new volume?s release, and more.

CMIP5 Modeling of Extreme Precipitation in Europe (17 Sep 2013)
Van Haren et al. conclude their report by declaring that ?it is important that we improve our understanding of circulation changes, in particular related to the cause of the apparent mismatch between observed and modeled circulation trends over the past century,? citing Haarsma et al. (2013); for if the models don?t improve in this regard, neither will their precipitation predictions improve… Read More (more…)

World’s top climate scientists told to ‘cover up’ the fact that the Earth’s temperature hasn’t risen for the last 15 years

Friday, September 20th, 2013

Source: UK Daily Mail  a-1

  • Leaked United Nations report reveals the world’s temperature hasn’t risen for the last 15 years
  • Politicians have raised concerns about the final draft
  • Fears that the findings will encourage deniers of man-made climate change

Scientists working on the most authoritative study on climate change were urged to cover up the fact that the world?s temperature hasn?t risen for the last 15 years, it is claimed.

A leaked copy of a United Nations report, compiled by hundreds of scientists, shows politicians in Belgium, Germany, Hungary and the United States raised concerns about the final draft.

Published next week, it is expected to address the fact that 1998 was the hottest year on record and world temperatures have not yet exceeded it, which scientists have so far struggled to explain. (more…)

Climate Study: Evidence Leans Against Human-Caused Global Warming

Thursday, September 19th, 2013

Dr. Craig Idso

Dr. Craig Idso

On Tuesday, a group of 50 international scientists released a comprehensive new report on the science of climate change that concluded that evidence now leans against global warming resulting from human-related greenhouse gas emissions.

The report, which cites thousands of peer-reviewed articles the United Nations-sponsored panel on climate change ignored, also found that “no empirical evidence exists to substantiate the claim that 2°C of warming presents a threat to planetary ecologies or environments” and no convincing case can be made that “a warming will be more economically costly than an equivalent cooling.” The U.N.’s panel is scheduled to release its next report next month.

The Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change, or NIPCC, which produced the report, is described as “an international panel of scientists and scholars who came together to understand the causes and consequences of climate change.” Unlike the “United Nations? Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which is government-sponsored, politically motivated, and predisposed to believing that climate change is a problem in need of a U.N. solution,” NIPCC “has no formal attachment to or sponsorship from any government or governmental agency” and is “wholly independent of political pressures and influences and therefore is not predisposed to produce politically motivated conclusions or policy recommendations.” (more…)

Abbott Shuts Down Australian Climate Commission

Thursday, September 19th, 2013

Source:  SMH

The Abbott government has abolished the Climate Commission, which had been established to provide public information on the effects of and potential solutions to global warming.

Environment Minister Greg Hunt rang chief climate commissioner Tim Flannery at 10am on Thursday to tell him the body had been shut down.

Plans to shut down the Climate Commission, along with a range of other climate-change related institutions and the carbon price, had been foreshadowed by the Coalition  before the 2013 election.

The EPA’s War on America

The EPA Borg

By Alan Caruba

Among the targets to disable an enemy?s ability to wage war is their energy infrastructure. The destruction of the utilities that provide electricity or its ability to refine oil is critical to crippling a nation?s ability to function, based on the universal use of hydrocarbons such as coal, natural gas, and oil.

If an enemy was doing this to America we would go to war against it, but this is being done and the enemy is the government on which we depend to ensure the nation has the energy it needs to function and grow. Leading the war on America has been the Environmental Protection Agency, but it is joined by the Department of Energy, the Department of the Interior, and other agencies.

The Institute for Energy Research has estimated that the much of the government?s oil and gas that is technically recoverable is worth $128 trillion, about eight times our national debt. Our coal resources in the lower 48 states are estimated to be worth $22.5 trillion. (more…)

Activity On The Sun Flatlines: Bitterly Cold Winters Ahead?

Thursday, September 19th, 2013

Source:  TDS

The Sun is almost completely blank, all but devoid of sunspots. This is odd considering we are meant to be at the solar maximum this summer. NASA has released a chart showing the downturn in activity.

The maximum could be double peaked which would see a further surge in activity over the next couple of months, but scientists are split on this. Scientific opinions vary not least because observations indicate that the Sun?s magnetic field is about to flip. This only happens at the solar maximum. (more…)

Rush: Global Warming Scientists — We Were Wrong

RUSH:  I have a bunch of global warming news in the Stack that I did not get to yesterday. It’s about the IPCC, the United Nations unit, I guess, that is the repository for the hoax.  You know the University of East Anglia in Britain.  Well, the hoaxers are there, but they reported to the UN, this guy at Penn State with his fake hockey stick graph.  These guys all reported to the IPCC.

All of these models that they constructed over the years predicted calamity by now, and the calamity never happened. I was still living in California 1985, and I’m watching This Week with David Brinkley on Sunday morning, and there’s this guy named Oppenheimer, and he’s a global warming guy. He’s saying, “We’ve got 20 years!” This is 1985, and he says, “We’ve got 20 years! I don’t know if we’re right, we’re not sure if we’re right, but we can’t take the chance! (more…)

Manchin: Obama is beating the ?living crap? out of coal country

Tuesday, September 17th, 2013

Source: daily callercoal-wanted-gg_s160x222

West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin exploded over the Obama administration?s anti-coal policies Tuesday.

?We?re getting the living crap beaten out of us,? Manchin said during a Senate hearing with President Barack Obama?s nominee to be the country?s top energy regulator. ?There has been nothing more beat up than coal.?

Manchin voiced his frustrations with rules put forward by Obama?s Environmental Protection Agency which have made it more costly and difficult for coal plants and coal mines to operate.

?They just beat the living daylights out of little West Virginia, but they sure like what we produce,? Manchin added. ?We could do it a lot better if we had a government working with us as a partner.? (more…)
